Sonic Queue EIE (SonicQ)
The Sonic Queue EIE acts as a generic interface between CygNet and a SonicMQ© queue. Depending on which Mode is selected when configured, the device can import files from the SonicQ into a local CygNet directory or export files to place them on the Queue to be processed by other systems.
A device can only run in one Mode, either Import From Queue or Export to Queue, but not both. Two separate devices will need to be configured for import and export functions. This will allow a unique configuration for each transaction process.
Options for monitoring the Queue for new files can be set to actively monitor for files that need to get imported or exported. If active monitoring is not desired, scheduling a MSS task can be configured to periodically check the Queue. Manual imports or exports can also be set to respond from UIS commands.
Once an import or export operation is complete, the SonicQ device can be configured to send a UIS command and/or set a point value if a successful and/or failure transaction occurs. The UIS command or setpoints can be configured to update system UDC's, can send a notification, or can trigger an alarming option, etc. These operations are all optional and can be uniquely configured for successful and failed transactions.
The EIE consists of two parts: an editor, which is used to configure the device in the Device Definition Service (DDS), and a driver, which is used by the Universal Interface Service (UIS) to move the files.
The SonicQ EIE does not support a 64-bit version. See 64-bit Device Drivers for more information.
